main guy on the cover

Since Zero #14 is out, I can finally show this cover that I've been sitting on for nearly two years (click for a slightly bigger picture) --

I still like it, which is a rare case. Maybe it's my favorite, even. I remember being sick to my stomach of drawing another picture of the main guy standing, and really wanted to find any other way of including him on the cover. Luckily, the plot of the issue provided a direction. I ended up drawing a different issue, so this one was drawn by Marek Oleksicki, who did a really great job.

There were also labels for things, which didn't make it to the final cover, but they help explain some objects -- particularly the circle in the middle.

15 years since Edvin Biukovic died. Still impossible to accept. I wouldn't be doing this if it weren't for his work, to say the least. Find any of his comics and I guarantee you will love them.

D3 printing

I've just put up D3 as a small print over at INPRNT. Check it out, and have in mind that they often offer free worldwide shipping, too. I'm ordering a bunch for myself to lug to future cons, so that's another option. And in case you want to carry it around with you all day, it's also available as a pretty good looking phone case:

..the tiny one. Adventures of my wife, part 9000. Strangely, but swearing at the bee did not make it go away. I got the report of this through a single text, and had to draw it.

World Art Drop Day

Today is the first world-wide art drop and I am participating, in the true spirit of comics: making strangers happy. I will be posting the clues on my twitter account - @tozozozo. (this is in Toronto, but there may be enough time to catch a plane still)

The Last Tycoon

I don't think I ever posted this one, either. Last year's cover for "The Last Tycoon." Was happy that the type treatment was accepted, though I didn't see the printed book. Parts of this one were done in Manga Studio - the palm trees and the linework on the guy.
