it's 6:30 am and i'm done (did some other things inbetween, though). this is about completely opposite of what they asked me to do, but this is the way i'd do it. at worst. maybe simplify more, like early peanuts or something. dunno, now that i look at it, it looks like illos for kids and it's all-around stealing (bits of this and bits of that), but i like it, and my gf likes it, and that's good enough for now.

doing two different things at the moment- pencils for the second episode of port silver and some sketches for a possible newspaper strip (biweekly, though, not daily). being able to switch between different styles is sometimes useful, sometimes backfires, but is always weird if you have to do both at the same time.

a panel from early zorro today, i changed a bunch on this one... also, crappy scan; did it on regular photocopy paper, and extra ink on the backside (for the grays) didn't help.

i recently got tiempos finales from sam hiti, and it's great. some of the best brushwork i've seen lately, and very pretty alltogether! it's got touches of kirby,caniff, paul pope... and soup eyes!

talk about a huge lapse in posting... anyway, school's out for a month; there's a bunch of things i need to do for the next semester, but there's definitely more time for drawing stuffs and learning. and sleeping way too much, too.

quick, go outside and do this. takes two seconds with a black marker. what a subversive fucker, me. of course, i stood there and giggled like a schoolgirl for ten minutes.

some drawings from school, couple of minutes each. it's great fun and good for learning, too bad we do it once a year. usually it's only long poses (2 hours), which is just plain stupid.

these are a great way to warm up for the day-

great fun. i even used a scalpel for some parts, as in the original, and clumsily lettered as well. i'm seriously thinking about doing this every day.

doing life

i really really wanted the first post to be a comic page, even wrote some stuff, but didn't draw it yet. slow, stupid or just lazy, pick one. today, though, i woke up after 4 hours of sleep (again) and couldn't go back to sleep. felt like roadkill so i skipped school and doodled some. when i'm tired and sleepy i usually draw women, as i did today. found a link with nudie photos while cleaning the favorites folder (who ever does that?) and instead of saving them on the hard drive and forgetting them as usual, i figured i'll draw them (in straight marker, yay). it was a good call, and i think you'll agree. here's some:







and i scanned these- last night i was "reading" (it's in french) hannibal cinq, written by jodorowsky, drawn by georges bess. he's a recent discovery for me, and there's a bunch of stuff i'll steal from him. in hannibal cinq he's kinda moebius-ish according to some people, but who cares. the art is nice, clean and the figures are solid so i copy some every now and then:
